About SRM University:
The SRM University is a co-educational private university in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It was founded in 1985 as SRM Engineering College in Kattankulathur, under Anna University. It now has four campuses in Tamil Nadu — Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Vadapalani and Tiruchirapalli — and in Modinagar, near Delhi. The institute gained deemed status during the 2003-2004 academic year and was renamed SRM Institute of Science and Technology. It became SRM University in 2006, when it attained the status of a full-fledged university, under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956.SRM University has launched its nanosatellite SRMSAT in collaboration with ISRO. SRM University's, The Conrods (BAJA off road Racing) and Camber Racing (SUPRA SAE India) are national champions and have set a benchmark in their respective events.
What is Formula Hybrid?
Formula Hybrid is a design and engineering challenge for undergraduate and graduate college and university students. The students have to design, build, and compete an open-wheel, single-seat racecar. This car must conform to a formula which emphasizes drive train innovation and fuel efficiency in a high-performance application.
Purpose
The endeavor is to encourage and promote the development of high-efficiency automotive drive trains.
The Competition
The Formula Hybrid student automotive design competition is based on the highly successful Formula SAE program and encourages the development of hybrid automotive drive trains with an emphasis on efficiency in a high-performance application.
Improved efficiency in an automotive drive system can be used to increase fuel economy, performance, or both. Fostering innovation in hybrid drive systems can ultimately benefit society and the environment, even though the immediate goal is to improve performance.
Like Formula SAE events, the Hybrid competition includes:
